Why Malta

A European Base,
Without Pausing Life Elsewhere

Malta combines genuine EU access with a high standard of living and a route to permanence that fits internationally mobile families.

01

Visa Free Travel

Move across 29 Schengen countries without the visa applications and approval waits that an Indian passport usually requires for Europe.

02

Permanent Status

The certificate grants the right to reside, settle and stay in Malta and does not expire, provided the programme conditions are maintained.

03

Parents and Children Included

One application can cover your spouse, dependent children and qualifying parents and grandparents, so the whole family holds the same secure base.

04

A Future for Your Children

An English speaking EU member with British style common law, where your children can study and build a life across Europe.

05

World Class Healthcare

Permanent residents can access Malta's public and private healthcare, ranked among the strongest in the Mediterranean region.

Planned Around How
Indian Families Actually Move

From RBI remittance rules to keeping your Indian citizenship and bringing your parents, the programme is structured around the questions Indian families ask first.

01

Funded Within RBI Rules

Resident Indians may remit up to USD 250,000 per person each financial year under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme. We coordinate with your chartered accountant and banker so the funding is structured cleanly and within the rules.

02

No Effect on Your Citizenship

The MPRP grants residency, not citizenship, so there is nothing to renounce. You remain an Indian passport holder while gaining a permanent base inside the European Union.

03

Three Generations, One Plan

Indian families rarely move alone. A single application can settle your spouse, children, parents and grandparents under the same residency.

04

A Considered Plan B

A permanent EU base is a hedge for your family against uncertainty at home, with the right to settle in Malta whenever you choose.

05

Licensed, Not a Visa Agent

Your file is prepared and filed through licensed Maltese representation, with full confidentiality and no inflated promises of guaranteed approval.

06

Guided From India

The entire process is managed remotely from India, with travel to Malta needed only for biometrics and the steps that legally require your presence.

FAQ

Common
Questions

Considered answers to what families ask most. For anything specific to your circumstances, our advisors are a message away.

Yes. The MPRP is open to Indian nationals as third-country applicants. It grants permanent residency, not citizenship, so it does not require you to give up your Indian citizenship or passport. You hold the residency alongside your Indian status.

Resident individuals may remit up to USD 250,000 per financial year under the RBI Liberalised Remittance Scheme, and a family can plan across several members and years. We coordinate with your chartered accountant and authorised dealer bank so funds move cleanly and within the rules. This is general information, not financial advice.

The main applicant must be at least 18, a third-country national and able to pass the programme's due diligence standards. EU, EEA and Swiss nationals are not treated as third-country nationals for this programme.

The regulations set two paths: at least EUR 500,000 in assets with at least EUR 150,000 in financial assets, or at least EUR 650,000 in assets with at least EUR 75,000 in financial assets.

A qualifying owned or rented property must be held for at least five years from the appointed day. After that, a residential address in Malta or Gozo must still be maintained.

A single application can include your spouse, dependent children subject to the dependency criteria, and qualifying parents and grandparents. Included members receive the same residency status as the main applicant.

There is no minimum stay requirement. Once permanent residency is granted you may keep your life elsewhere while holding a secure EU base, provided the qualifying property is maintained for the required period.

The MPRP is an immigration status, not a work permit. Local employment may require separate authorisation. Business ownership and tax residence questions are reviewed separately.

No. This website gives general information for an initial assessment. Formal advice is provided only after a private review of your facts with qualified professionals.
